Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520), also known as Raphael, was an Italian Renaissance artist noted for his beautiful and realistic works. He was one of the most famous artists of his time and is considered one of the greatest artists in the history of Western art.
Raphael was born in the city of Urbino, Italy, in 1483, and grew up in a family of artists. He studied under his father, who was a famous painter and architect. After his father died, Raphael moved to Florence and worked with some of the most famous artists of the time, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
Raphael's works often feature mythological and religious figures, as well as portraits of important people of the time. He is noted for his realistic depiction technique, with subtle use of light and shadow, and meticulous detail.
Some of Raphael's famous works include "The School of Athens" (1509-1511), "Sistine Madonna" (1512-1513), and "The Transfiguration" (1516-1520).
Raphael died at the age of 37 in 1520 from an unknown disease. His artistic heritage continues to be a source of inspiration for many artists and art enthusiasts around the world today.
